Dear Patient,
We are writing to inform you of an important change in our participation with your insurance company, Delta Dental. Effective April 1st, 2022 we will no longer be in network with Delta Dental.
**This Does Not Apply to Orthodontic Patients
The most significant change you will experience is that after we have submitted your claims for you Delta Dental will begin sending reimbursement checks for the cost of your treatment directly to you instead of sending them to our Bear/Glasgow Dental office. As a result, we will need you to pay 100% of the cost for your visit at the time of service rather than the estimated portion of your costs, as you have in the past.
We understand that most of our patients do not have a “dental care” savings account they can use to cover the total cost of their treatment while waiting for their reimbursement check to arrive from Delta to make up for the amount covered by their insurance. Which is why Bear/Glasgow Dental has partnered with Dover Federal Credit Union to provide our Delta Dental patients a way to spread out the initial cost of their treatment with payments over several months rather than paying the total all at once. Enclosed with this letter is a brochure that details our Sleepy Tooth Advantage plan card. Membership is guaranteed and free should you wish to sign up and we are always happy to accept payment by check, credit or debit card, or cash if you prefer.
To be clear, seeing an “out-of-network” provider (which is what we will be) usually means higher out of pocket expense. It is important that our patients know that we did not make this decision lightly and we realize it may be more than an inconvenience for you.
We are grateful for the trust you have placed in us and we want very much to continue having you as a patient. We hope you will continue to rely on us for all your dental needs and that you will take advantage of the enclosed plan to minimize the disruption for your future visits.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Warm regards,
The doctors, hygienists, and staff of Bear/Glasgow Dental
